~ I have to say, there sure isn't enough judgment going on lately.
I mean, if only we would leap to more conclusions about the people we only "sort of" know, and if only we would - on the whole - be just a little quicker to judge harshly the actions of these people based on the vast, vast, complete and comprehensive information we have about their real world situations... Why then, we'd all be so much better off.
~ oh... and on a completely different topic...
It is a red hot pot of boiling uncertainty to ladle out opinions on the macro societal issues of mental health, mental health care, crime and punishment. Personally... Not guilty by reason of insanity. is really very messy. Over ripe and swarming with fruit flies for me because I don't really like the idea of mass murdering socially fucked losers only being accountable if they were of sound mind and body at the time of their totally psychotic episodes. It's one big wet contradiction in terms.
yea I know... no, I do... the bottom line keeps moving but it remains essentially the same. I'm glad I go to work and help people. I'm not expected to form the macro social process... I get to take the bus, read you guys, play with my kids and decide day to day if I want to read / hear / see the news. Thankfully, somebody else got that really shitty job.
