I swear... I thought Pyrex meant you could heat it on the stove...
So my house smells like salsa...
I grabbed hisbeauty's recipe... I bought a bushel of veggies... I chopped... Ed chopped... We crushed, minced, diced and measured... Then tonight, when I got home from dinner (at my Bro's house) I boiled... So, I start getting the mason jars ready... 4 large bottles of salsa and a wee bit in a dish for tasting. I boiled the lids for a while and cleaned the bottles... Then I filled the bottles and put the lids on.
The full bottles? Two went in the boiling water I cleaned the lids with...
The other two went into a 13" glass baking dish, on the stove, heat on, boiling water. All is going according to plan... I'm cleaning out the cook pot and cleaning up the kitchen... I go and move a bottle in the glass pan...
KA-FUCKING-BANG!!! The glass pan frigg'en exploded... I absolutely screamed... it scared the living shits right out of me. It also unevenly distributed chucks and bits of glass ALL ACROSS MY ENTIRE FREAKING KITCHEN. No, I mean 15 feet away, by the sliding glass doors out to the porch? Glass... and - all around, beside, under and INSIDE (via the element holes) - water ... geeezzus H cripes... it took me two and a half hours to clean it all up.
I do, however, have four large bottles of salsa... and I have no idea what they taste like... the little taster dish was filled with glass.
