It's Christmas Eve.
It's easy to think of christmas in terms of the cliches...
Gifts... random nice-o-matic... family... soft focus living room scenes with snowy windows... blah blah blah blah...
But really, all the folks for whom these cliches work so well can pretty much have them all year long... if they wanted.
They have choices and they make a bunch... then presto... christmas.
Then there's the rest.
Single parents who have to struggle just to rub up against any of the cliches...
The remarkable and brave parents that whisper "everything is going to be ok..."
A parent that has to wave to the kids as they head off to chirstmas with ... the ex.
Friends, neighbors, coworkers, passing acquaintences... who are just barly holding it together.
My wish ... my christmas wish is for you guys.
May there always be a place in your heart to hold the reward you earn with every breath you take.
And may this years christmas miracle be a moment from any quarter... that warms that place in your heart.
You are in mine.
