My three year? old camera... Canon SD200 was the one we dropped in the drink.
Extended warranty... purchased when it was new, ran out on Jan 1.
I brought it in to Future Shop in December to complain about a problem (the select button for picture, movie or review seemed to have a mind of it's own).
They sent it to Canon for repair...
It came back five weeks later unchanged because Canon couldn't recreate the problem.
So I complained and they gave me an additional six months of warranty.
That warranty ran out... LAST WEEK.
After dropping it in the lake... it gave me a day of fuzzy pictures... a day of nice pictures... then totally went to hell.
Unusable and dead.
Future Shop gave me a 189$ credit against another camera. HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! S-C-O-R-E!!!!!!
So I bought a model of Canon that still used the same battery (because I have already got a spare) but uses their newest "IS" geek.
Result?
A Canon PowerShot SD1100 IS (8 mg Elph) :D
They make better cameras... but the dif between this and the credit was 30$!!!!
So I got this for 30$ and a lot of smiling. :)
Then?
Then I bought a new router.
Our wireless router is 6 years old... an SMC that I bought for 10$ (39$ with a 29$ mail-in-rebate).
It's been fine... but it's limited on the range side.
So I've been waiting for a good router to get "affordable".
Future Shop had a Linksys Wireless N "Range Plus" router on for 69$.
More Big Smiles.
Last thing?
I have an older Pentax that we never bothered to sell on ebay when the iron was hot... a 3.2 meg.
That one we're sending with Edward to overnight camp.
This leaves us wanting a new inexpensive camera for Geo.
The people at Future Shop - who were totally digging my buying vibe - were only too happy to knock an additional 10$ off their el-cheep-o samsung 7.0 Meg digital camer (so it was 79$!!!!!)
And now Geo is decked out too. :)
Holy Retail Geek Therapy Baby!!!!
