"Well Sir... we don't want to open that hood, until we're ready to do the repair, because we may not get it closed again."
Great... just great.

It's another classic cold and dreary November day. It's not raining... so I guess that's something. :)
Today kicks off the last week of my work for the client I have been assigned to for the last year and a half.
It's a bit of a drag... I still don't know where the next gig is... but my fingers are crossed on an opportunity that would translate into a wicked short commute for a few months. :)

All I'm really caring about, at this stage, is giving this client something really useful and thereby ensuring a future engagement when they get a new budget this spring.
So... work work work...

wearing
~ blue ftls
~ p-z jeans
~ gray t and an odd zippered sweatshirt thing that is surprisingly comfy!
planning
~ up early... drive the boys to school and go to body shop to get estimate on car repairs...
~ talk to insurance again and find out... that I do have to pay a deductible... 300 fricking dollars for a damn deer. (Insert a great deal of swearing here)
~ home to knuckle under with my client report...
~ continue till dinner hour forces me to stop and get cooking.
~ work tonight... and break for heroes!! :) (hoping heroes is on tonight)
~ and maybe for a few mins to write something about AR... :)
wishing
~ well, that I hadn't hit that flippen deer ... that's what I'm wishing.
~ that I could blow 300$ on something a whole lot more fun ... than getting deer guts out of my shattered car grill.

Somebody should invent a system by which the total amount of money spent by all levels of governments in North America... Canadian and American, federal, provincial, state and municipal, on the subject of Same Sex Marriage. Then... install a giant LED counter in some grand public square, like Times Square, displaying the running total. All that money is coming from our taxes. All money spent by government ... comes from our taxes. Endless debate, review and argument... costs a bloody fortune.

People that ride along on the high pedestal of their opinions, fueled by poor interpretations of imperfect religious texts and reinforced by the fervor of those few among us that have decided they speak for their god, let alone for... everyone, really kind of piss me off. Never has there been made a valid argument supporting a case for maintaining a culture of bigotry, intolerance or the denial of basic equality rights among our citizens. Never. Oh, sure... people try and they thump about how their case is different or special or backed by the immutable word of god. But we finally realized they were full of shit and; gave women the vote, ended slavery, turned off the ovens, ended segregation...

Guess what... you're full of it this time too.
And it's costing us a fortune.

It's municipal election day here. Of all the votes you cast... in the many different elections... none has a more direct impact on your day to day lives than the election of your mayor and municipal council. VOTE.

K... gotta jet. :)
see ya.
