Totally enjoyed yesterday... aside from the explosive drama of the "deer incident".
I got the rest of the central vac installed... I had made this big ass project out of it... ages ago, and laid all this too-cool-for-school pipe around in the ceiling of the basement to hook up the big V ... and then we started complaining to the builders that ... two of the vac-ports were DOA. So they contracted the vac-company to come and check it out. Dude gets in the basement and ... say's "I can't find the other tubes..."
Now, to our credit, the builder didn't point out the "other rough-in" ... only the rough-in you could actually see!.
Damn but this other one was totally hidden behind a joist and an air duct. (bitch to pipe away from too!).
But ... after goofing around yesterday afternoon and a bit of "glue mania" last night... it's all done.
(rips of a piece of job jar paper)
Oh, it's a totally gloomy day... gray and overcast, but not rain or snow yet.
We flew the airplane in the front yard a bit and I tooled around the back a bit... I'm always amazed at how much property there is back there. :D Total jungle... but still. :)
~ gray ftls
~ ratty old jeans
~ long sleeve warmth and a hoodie.
~ totally have a sunday... fat with sloth, indulgence and ... a good assortment of job jar things...
~ like... hang the bikes in the garage (no trial! haha)
~ oh, and "get up early" (did that) and watch tv shows, like BSG and SNL... (yeah, pvr and fresh coffee)
~ contemplate slamming up drywall in parts of the basement... the "new wall" project is on hold for a bit...
~ food? must think of something for dinner.
~ for nutmeg to discover the zen of laptop maintenance...
~ that clumsy_me catches the healthy bug soon
~ and that ladymeg1... knows she's a supa stah!
Happy birthday AJ (days_unfolding)... may there be some RC fun in your not-too-distant-future. :D I hope the year brings you plenty to smile about.
TV talk... BSG! The thing is... it always strikes me as a mark-of-stupid that the good guys (colonial fleet) are never very smart about their dealings with the cylons... the whole pig-headed "they're toasters... they're machines" close minded deal ... well there's an old scientific method of analysis that starts like this... "If it walks like a duck...." The show seems to illustrate modern issues in war and vengeance... like maintaining a dehumanizing perspective about your enemy. It's easy to kill a toaster than a person. I soooo like this show. It is a moment of pure self-indulgence to sit and fold laundry on a sunday morning ... getting my dose of BSG. :)
AND... I say with great sincerity... that I cannot get over how incredible Christina Agu-I-can't-spell-your-name-lara's voice is. It's like... you listen to her belt out an amazing vocal and then you look at her and think... how the heck can that big sound come from such a tiny little hottie... She's beautiful in this new... "classic" look... but forget that. The voice is... amazatron.
AND AND AND... how totally cool was it on SNL to see Tony Benet, Christina and Paul McCartney on stage together? Impressive.
It's ... 3:20... I think I'll go be lazy in the garage for a while. Play with bikes, ladders, hooks and stuff. :)
Enjoy your sunday. :)
