To each voice that wondered aloud or quietly...
on the subject of cup cakes for Geo's class...
about why all the late night baking when the store is ... just up the street...
know that this is baking we're talking about.
Geo may not be the kid at school with the iPod or the newest this or that...
but as long as I have anything to say about it...
he'll definitely be the guy with home baking that gets everyone to line up.
The kids in class had been asking "are you bringing in those cup cakes again????"
My little angel boy is turning 11 today.
I was ever so long ago when Suzy and I zoomed away in the night to bring our little man into the light.
The "boy or girl" answer was kept a mystery till the birth and I still choke up when I think about calling my dad from the bedside phone to tell him that he had a new grandson.
I look at him today and i struggle to reign in my emotions and decide on how I can best sum up the feelings that course through me...
and I conclude that one word says it all;
~ blue ftls
~ blue p-z jeans
~ white t and brown turtleneck
~ work work work... lunch with boss... need to ... talk turkey for a bit...
~ home... where the heart is supposed to be...
~ out to BIRTHDAY DINNER for Geo - my 11 year old boy. He wants Mongolian grill for dinner.
~ write about Survivor later... watch Studio 60 later still...
~ clean clean clean... having 25 people over for dinner tomorrow night. Must get things in "order". (both families for birthday dinner for Geo and an excuse to have everyone over!!)
~ to point out that ... cool knows no limits and Mr. monkey proves every time I check his journal out.
~ to point out that I have an email with the Jamie Oliver 2nd Book (cook book, naked chef dude) attached... pre-publication and all that sneaky stuff. Send me a note (firstname.lastname@example.org) and I'll reply with the file. :) (awesome!!!!!!!!!!)
~ to say I love the link to the Africa Cam (thanks meeshsmind)
~ to send a few words of condolence to evangelinaarion and wish for her a safe journey to see her aunt...
~ and to thank you guys for being ... such great friends. :)
Happy birthday Georgie... May you be held in the loving hands of good health as this next year slips past you and ... if you don't mind... don't be growing up too too fast. I want to enjoy you being my little boy for just as long as I can. And remember my little angel... as long as breath passes my lips, there will never be a moment in your life when you will not know love. I will ever and always love you more than the earth loves the sun.
So my dad and I were talking ... he was asking me about my comments regarding Darfur. Did you know that the problems in Darfur are also the direct result of the Taliban? The Sudan used to be the home of the Taliban.
This all got me thinking... I mean, you know the story line that gets built up in movies about a guy that saves another guys life... and how he is now responsible for the person who's life he saved.
Lets say we totally "rescue" Afghanistan, establish firm, cross country support for the government in power, blah blah blah... wee. Good... right? Then what. What if the taliban comes back and tries to influence an election? Do we invade again? Wait... do we actually ever leave?
Are we all now ... and forever... responsible for maintaining a western style democracy in that country? What if ... labour unions rise up... and successfully influence the political process with left leaning support for "the workers". Do we invade and force them to not play with socialism?
At what point does Afghanistan stop being it's own country and start being ... a US Protectorate (like Costa Ricca)?
Does anyone know how you make a PDF that is a "fill out'able" form?
All I can think is that you make a "form" in word and then distill it into a pdf and use the "form features" like text boxes, check boxes, radio buttons, etc... that get distilled. But is there a native way to make the forms within Adobe Writer?
~ k, time to git. :)
have a wonderful Friday.
