September 29, 2003!!!
Yes that's an old "monday morning picture"... but it's hilarious, I wanted to share... and besides that... I got nothing. Cam's still not hooked up yet. :)
Talk about being in a "post break work funk"!!! It's all I can do to not focus on 4:30 and burning rubber outta here. !!
(quietly wishes that pennies from heaven would let me just ... be a home guy... instead of a work-guy).
It's another beautiful day in the land of corto... sunshine... blue sky. The radio talked about rain later... but ... what do they know.
I managed to get the wall oven installed... (not actually very challenging... except Jennair made the "mounting brackets" different lengths... so there's some phone call action coming. :) The range "hood fan" ... a "chimney style" thing... is not so good. It's beautiful... and if it's ever installed... it'll look great. :D
The electricians pulled the wire through the dry wall... in the WORST POSSIBLE SPOT ... exactly where a supporting brace is supposed to be bolted to the wall. gah!!
Oh well... one step at a time.

Ok... france and Madam Rice have hammered out a "cease fire" deal.
Of course, both france and Ms Rice are known for their affable and congenial styles... so we can all rest assured that ... lasting peace has been restored.
And then, for an encore... Sharon will roll over in his hospital bed and purple monkeys will fly out of his ass.
George spent a half an hour yesterday trying to explain a nagging question to me. He heard a lyric in a song that he said "really reminded me of a question that I have been trying figure out how to ask for ages...". He want's to know the big "why". "Why are we here...? Everything... us, people, the city, country... Earth... the planets, the sun ... the universe... everything... Why?" But as we analysed his question ... the two of us kept coming up with incomplete variations on the theme of "why". Things like "what's the point of existing?" and "What are we supposed to do?" George is 10. He is very concerned about this. He's a little frustrated that he cannot seem to phrase the question in "just the right way". He seemed to like the notion that our "purpose" is to try and "make a difference" by being here... to "improve the world" by virtue of living in it. We ended up talking about family... and how all things ... the universe, the stars, the planets, the moon, the countries and cities... all swirl around us but only family is connected... and one interpretation of "purpose" might be to strengthen the family without hurting anyone or anything in the swirling mess of everything else.
Just say'en... heady stuff for a 10 year old.
If you move too fast,
Things tend to blurr together
And they become a neutral kind of grey,
Tasteless, and without the sustaining pleasure of real emotions.
Don't be in such a rush.
Make time for art...
Make space for love...
And appreciate the subtle colours that surround you.
K... time to fly.
See ya. :D
