Mild? Well... see ... this is how it works. First... mad snow and wind. Everybody freaks out and BOOM it's winter. Then... you shovel off your laneway... because you still can (first snow!). You get your laneway down to bare pavement... and then there's an entire night of freezing freaking rain. Result? The world becomes a skating rink and the on-ramp is your laneway. !!! grrrrr...
Geo has been complaining of headaches this week... and part of last week. There's been some advil... some massage... some cold and hot packs... But today we sent him to the doc first thing. Z took him to the clinic... just so we're starting a record of this issue. It could be related to a bonk he got doing a back somersault in gym (likely), something in his diet (unlikely) and his posture at the computer (likely contributor!). We just had his eyes checked... so it's not that. Anyways... bottom line is that I am taken with some concern and worry about my little man... :(*
It's lovely out... snow-ish... but they're calling for more rain... not the freezing type... so we'll see how long the snow lasts. :D

Despite the global conspiracy to equate christmas with Catholicism, and despite jerry fallwell sticking his nose into Boston over a Nova Scotia tree... the fact remains that Christmas is a made up holiday that draws on the original earth goddess and the calendar of worshiping her. The virgin birth story was agreed to at the council of Nicia in 323 AD and the date of Christmas is pretty much an arbitrary one mean to capitalize on the existing "earth goddess" festival.
People get to believe what they like... worship in what ever way they desire - so long as it does no man or woman harm.
We can have religious symbols in public places and the public can attend to their faith in private. It's all good man.
However... lets not lose sight of the notion that Christmas is a commercialized celebration of the midwinter and a time of rebirth for most other religions.
So... if you don't mind... I'll be calling it Christmas... a Christmas Tree, a Christmas holiday, Christmas season, Christmas shopping, Christmas party, and if I see ya... I'll likely say Merry Christmas. If you feel this in inappropriate and exclusionary to other folks... I suggest a great many enemas... as a start.

So despite our refusal to let 'em watch Family Guy... they have watched... heck, we even let 'em watch when we were on vacation... but ... not lately. Despite that... Edward still comes out with "giggidi giggidi giggidi" at dinner last night.. fucking Quagmire... (hahahaha)
