Well... a head ache ended my day yesterday.
We watched Prison Break... me = digg'en that show... somebody please kill tea-bag!! and I watched some of Grays Anatomy, but the giant de-clutter (damn that fly lady bitch) project continues. :)
I went to bed without making the kids lunches... without pre-setting the coffee pot... and we managed to not get out of bed till after 7. So... crummy start to the day... and on the heals of so much success last week... grrr! But lessons learned. Edward was off all day yesterday but acting rather healthy as he tore around the house after his brother... so today I bundled him off to school. He was not pleased... (He starts to get the idea of "act sick... stay home" and I need to make sure that "stay home" equals "stay in bed and be bored to absolute tears" - and, btw, the sick days of my youth begin to make more sense now as I look at this situation. :D)
It's a gray and rainy day. Cold (4 degrees Canadian) to start but it's supposed to go up to 14 by lunch, rain all day, thunderstorm, then back down to 4 by dinner. How the heck do you dress your kids for that? Mother Nature is limbering up for the winter ahead... nasty wretch.

I am rather enjoying the fall from grace that is the current life and times of George Poopie Head Bush. I heard he's gonna change his first name to Anhieser so that people might stop hating him so much. I don't know what Americans are hearing or reading in their press... but the international and Canadian press are filled with information on how the Republicans and Democrats alike are calling him out. The dude is heading rather quickly towards the land of lame duck'ness.

Yeah, I know it's getting long in the tooth as far as the freakishly fast paced news cycles go, but that suicide bombing thing in Jordan.... Al-Queda dude Shewalli or whatever his name is... masterminds a dreadful stoke of aggression against the infidel West... so he sends some burka wearing bombers into three Hotels. American Hotels ... in Jordan... because he wants to make his message of hate against the West clear. One of the hotels was a "Days Inn". I'm not sure about your experiences in the big wide world... but have you ever been in a Days Inn???? What exactly is American about a Days Inn? Holy Third World Country Wrapped in Concrete man.

I want to rant about André Boisclair - the new head of the Party Quebecois. But I can't bring myself to do it. I'll just get agitated. The stated goal of the Party Quebecois is to separate Quebec from Canada. Canada is nice... we let people like this walk the streets and we even let them collect unemployment checks. But the desire to lock them all up and calling them Enemy Combatants... is pretty strong. Just say'en.

You know... I don't want to start anything but... somebody has got to do something about the unfair treatment of plastic finger puppets!!! First it was the "muzzle in public" deal... now the government is thinking of banning them all together. Just because a few kids choke and die on them every year... is no reason to take it out on the cute little puppets. See my little greenie in the picture... he's a gentle as a lamb. Never hurt a fly... why, more people die choking on ball point pen caps every year and you don't see anyone muzzling the pens!!! Greenie is great with kids... Heck, I would leave George and Ed, as infants, in the same room with Greenie and have no fear at all. The stories of plastic finger puppet maulings ... are simply not true. Or at least... they're wild exaggerations.
Let us all band together... join hands in a show of solidarity and unite under the hopeful banner of freedom for all plastic finger puppets.
~ I just saw my recycle bins blow down the street... HUGE WIND outside... HUGE... I gotta go find them. :D
