Well the heat was thick yesterday... but it's downright solid today. We woke up to a thunderous downpour that had me under a golf umbrella at the kids bus stop. It's still hot... but now it's wet too... kinda like any twenty second stretch of The L Word... but that's another story.
In the serious heat after dinner last night, geo accompanied me on my annual trip around the street collecting for the Canadian National Institute for the Blind (CNIB). The charities really have this nailed... because people seem pretty willing to cough up a little when the "collector" is a neighbor. I do about 38 houses... a bunch aren't home and the rest dug in with 5 or 10... adding in Edwards lemonaid stand project and we had a healthy contribution to make. :D

Holy Gay Man Explosion (GME for short). Imagine...
the conservative christian right has really dug themselves
a hole here... Seems that being a gay man is pretty much
an easy out from the military service in the US. Is that correct?
I mean, some think-tank dude from Washington was saying
as much on the disembodied voice machine this morning as
I drove to work.... but I got mentally side-tracked thinking of
the GME! ... of how the ranks of well-dressed-but-can't-run
would swell should the draft be re-instated... to counter the
trend of American hesitancy to sign up for the chance to
have a few body parts splattered on a sand dune. The fricking
department stores wouldn't be able to keep pastel colours
on the shelves in the mens department. Guys... just a clue,
the Alabama draft office is not gonna buy it if you turn to a
ginormous feathered head-dress a'la Y-M-C-A to make your point.

My little jornada (HP J 820) is refusing to sync ... last time this happened it needed a physical repair... this is a big deal.
I use that thing to write pretty well ever update (tv shows) and take notes at client gigs... this blows.
Now... if I had a little apple power book... hmmmm.....
