Wake up at 9:00 as Geo stairs at me ... urging me to wake up... sigh... a delightful sleep in. :)
Job one? Wake up Ed and get them downstairs.
Watch Animal Planet Most Extreme Swarms... kinda neat.
Make bow tie pasta for Edward
Read paper while they do their Kumon (homework stuff)
Mark Kumon, serve pasta.
Come to office and start... this post. :)
Note: Yu-Ghi-Oh is the stupidest card game in the fricken universe... and I have to go play a match with mr. impatient... er... edward. ug.
It's a very rainy weekend. Yesterday was rainy... today is ... stormy clouds on the horizon and looooads of rain.
~ pj pants
~ white t...
~ red sweat shirt
~ a layer of sleep over my head...
~ to have a calm sunday... day time
~ and have a rather less calm evening...
~ car trip... stormy weather... loud music... crowded club... car trip... and home again.
~ that my family wasn't all sick and stuff...
~ to send a few virtual high fives out to westhill_mom... just cuz...
~ that there were some good hugs I could send out to kimberly27616
~ and that I didn't have to play yu-ghi-oh!!!
I had some fun yesterday... getting my MIL sorted on high speed and with her new iBook.
Every good endeavor... starts with coffee...
Then it's a drive to the computer store...
You know... these mac people... they, like, have their own stores and stuff...
It's a lot like a cult.
Sales guy is happy to report that the one iBook G4 14 they have is still available.
... so he spends 15 minutes trying to talk me into the extendo-warranty-deal.
I didn't go for it.
Driving it home...
SOFA World... and all I can think ... is why didn't you name it King!
Open her up... gotta say... it's all class with Apple.
Then it's over to my MILs house to meet the guy from the cablevision
company that's putting in the cable modem I ordered on friday!!.
Apparently... her cable deal now includes a digital cable box, so he brought that too.
He plugs in and tests the cable modem...
And I open open the box the linksys wireless router came in...
Plug it in... and connect it to the modem.
Charge up the new iBook...
Turn on the iBook for the first time...
Answer 10 questions and BINGO it's online, highspeed and wireless
Note the patch cord... not connected.
After plugging into the router and setting up the WEP security,
the lap top goes to it's new home on my MILs desk.
And I'm just say'en... go buy a new XP Lap Top and have it
working this fast and I'll ... be all impressed.
A year from now... when nothing has ever gone wrong with her lap top
I'll be even more impressed.
The issue here is being the family geek... and trying to support everyones
use of a pc. I never complain... it's kinda fun helping with upgrades and stuff.
But for some of my family members... simplicity, dependability and design...
matters. For them... I think it's all about the mac.
