~ it's a basic dessert pudding and way flexible... SCREAMINGLY easy to make.
I've made it with fresh blueberries, strawberries and my fav is with canned, chopped, peaches!!!!
The big deal here is that this is literally a five (5) minute decision you can make in the middle of cooking dinner.
By the time the dinner table is cleared off... dessert is cooled down and fabulous!!!
What you need:
Big oven-ready bowl.
A pot for the stove that can hold three cups of boiling liquid.
a little butter, brownsugar, flour, milk, sugar, vanilla, salt, baking powder, and... water. :)
Start:
~ put 3 cups of water on the stove to boil.
~ pour a full cup of brown sugar into it...
~ a tablespoon of butter and a few drops of vanilla.
~ if you're using raisens... put 1/2 cup of raisens in too.
~ boil this!
While that's warming up to a boil:
~ in a big bowl you can put right in the oven...
~ put in a tablespoon of soft butter
~ 1 cup of flour
~ 1/2 cup of sugar
~ 1/2 cup of milk
~ a pinch of salt
~ 2 teaspoons of baking powder.
Stir stir stir...
Spoon the hot liquid over the batter...
It starts to puff a bit before you put it in the oven.
Cook it at 350 for 15 - 18 minutes...
And let it cool for 15 minutes...
and no fooling... it's best hot with a little milk poured over it... or (gasp) a bit of vanilla icecream.
NOTE: If you use peaches... or another fruit... just pour the chopped fruit into the liquid right before you spoon it over the batter.
