yes... i need a shave... a shower... I need a lot of things. :D
Morning. It's one seriously blustery day... windy, gray, cold and rain seems to sneak in and sneak away again... brrrr...
Yesterday was all about working on a clean up and reorg the basement job-jar sorta thing...
Oh and we did some [ :: decorating for halloween :: ] but there's loads to do in that regard. The Big H is on a Sunday this year!! That's great! (unless your in some bible belt zone where this halloween stuff is a "pegan ritual", and is akin to spitting in church and taking the devil into your heart... in which case you are a loser and deserve to be made fun of.
Dinner last night was a "birthday dinner" for my BIL michael and George (his is on the 20th). We celebrated with suz's family at my MIL's house. It was really a nice night and (best of all) geo got a cool remote control car from his uncle - which I will play with vigorously... :D ar ar ar. My nieces... when they arrive, looked around, then turned to me saying "is there a cake?" hahaha... they know who to ask!! haha and when I pointed my SIL and the girls to the laundry room where the cake was they said "Oh THAT one... yeah... I love that cake". hahaX2 I'm definitely the family cake-guy. :D

Well the Pit-Bull thing... I know there are strong opinions on this topic... on both sides of the fence.
Lets think...
~ Guns don't kill people... people kill people... people with guns.
~ "more dog bite reports in the last year here in Ottawa from Black Labs than Pit Bulls"... of course, there are about 3000% more black labs than pit bulls... so stats like this are utterly meaningless.
~ I am concerned about any dog left untethered in range of my kids in a play zone... our yard, a park, etc. And that is simply a function of being a parent. However, my neighbor two doors down has a poodle (ugly little yappy thing...kind of like a feral cat with vocal chords) and I am not at all bothered to see that dog standing in the next door neighbors yard, barking away at one of my kids who is playing in the back yard. If it was a pitt bull... there is no way in hell I could feel as calm...
~ "it's the training!!" Granted... true as that may be... You train up that neighbors poodle to be a vicious killer and I could still punt it across the yard.
~ "it's the owners fault..." So ... what? It's my job to get to know every dog owner in the city and make a reference booklette that will guide my concern for their specific dog? I don't understand how this fact... true as it may be... changes anything? I see a big scary dog with a jaw like a stump-puller and I will be worried a shit bucket more than if it was a Jack Russel growling away at me... and while I would still worry if it was a lab, a border collie, ... or any other mid to big dog, I'll worry just a wee bit more if it's a freaking pit bull.
~ the issues and facts concerning individual dogs, owners, breeds, etc... mean nothing to the parents of a child killed in a dog attack. This potential law is not the solution. I know that... but it's still part of a solution, like it or not.
NOW ... I understand that this is a divisive issue. I'm not a dog hater... I promise. I'm also comfortable with the degree to which my dog related ignorance leaves me not one bit concerned if a specific dog bread is branded no-can-do-here. It's a dog... it's a dog!!
bark bark...
see ya later.
