Ok... am I Chic Guevara ? Or is it Power To May Day?
No... it's Idiot Wrist Skater Twit day... (IWST Day).
I'm off to the clinic to see if this swelling needs to be x-rayed... etc.
dumb dumb dumb...
Never-the-less... I'm chalking up the first couple of days at a skate park with Geo ... as life long memory moments.
And those are gifts, at least the good memories, you give your kids with care and a glad heart.
Regardless of how much your wrist hurts. :)

It's twenty kinds of gorgeous outside today... just killer ... blue sky, 15 and rising (temperature) and ... i'm not wearing a tie.
Sweeet! :D

A very happy birthday to a working girrrrrl. :D (sin_da_rella) Have a great day sugar and I hope the year ahead ... is filled with good pay, a good boy and ... new opportunities with a little girl.
And happy birthday to mz-tina... (dockdiva) ... who is way to busy having fun to see this wish. :)
And I know you're long gone... but happy birthday jjoanne, never the less. :)

Why is it so hard for the government to understand the logic behind... "a family that elects to have a full time stay at home caregiver for their children should be able to designate income from the working parent to the caregiver to reduce taxation..." and base that, in some way, on the number and age of the children?
It just doesn't make sense to gather absolutely zero taxable benefits from raising our own children ... while people that "have to" or "elect to" have their kids raised by someone else gets tax credit city!
grrrr!

:)
K.... I'm off to the clinic...

NOT broken.

So far.
xrays don't show an obvious break
and the "specialist" will have a look tomorrow
and if there's a problem, they'll let me know.

for now I'm s'posed to treat it like a sprain
and see if it doesn't get steadily better over ten days.
bonus.

spring with a cast would suck.
!!
(and spending the better part of the day...
... in clinics and labs... kinda sucks too!)

Dinner conversation...

Geo: (in a strangely snooty accent) "Father... this is not cajun spiced enough! I'm most dissappointed father."
Me: "Yeah, well Damien, I'll try and do better next time..."

I would love to read or hear a considered opinion on both sides of the immigratin issue in the US.

As I understand it... the vast (12 million?) population of mexicans that have entered the US without going through regular immigration proceedings and are now living and working in the states... are protesting a federal (or is it state?) initiative to beef up? (Or just enforce existing?) immigration laws.... to the extent that these people would no longer be able to stay?

I mean...
~ that's a lot of people... they must account for some aspect of the economy... you can't suddenly remove them from the equation without causing damage.
~ where... would... they... go?
~ perhaps "made in america" would stop meaning "made by mexicans in America" and prices would have to go up?
~ how can they be asking to suddenly be allowed to apply for welfare and other social transfer benefits when they've not paid any taxes?
~ do their kids go to school? public school?

I'm confused.

I have strong feelings that people shouldn't be allowed to "usurp" an immigration process... I protested and was almost killed (well...attacked) over an issue like this when a boat load of Turkish immigrants unloaded illegally in Canada...
However...
I cannot imagine how you can deal with 12 million people that are integrated into a social fabric? It's not like there in a line up waiting to be allowed in and the debate is on the rules for admission...

So ... any thoughts would be helpful.
Am I interpreting events fairly or have I got it wrong?
