Ok... so go to bed at 2:00 and there be NO getting up at 6:00 (be quiet Kimberly!! :D) I'll try the up super early on monday... as will I also try the "get the kids to help make their lunch" thing. :)

Today is one of those ridiculously gorgeous days... sunshine, cool breeze, and I just wanna roll in the periwinkle!!! :)
Alas... I will roll around my few-feet-of-shared-cube-space on my ergo chair instead.

~ new blue ftls... gah... so comfy
~ black kinda cargos... [ :: soft and cotton... and they actually fit... :: ]
~ strongbad!!! (hi kimbers)
~ strange sorta green short sleeve dress shirt... the one that has the hem screaming "don't tuck me in..." (so it's not tucked!)
~ meeting at 11:30 with client boss. sorting out the activities on the run up to the end of the gig next week.
~ still hoping to get sorted into an extended engagement... sigh
~ write a little something about bb at lunch...
~ read some bio stuff on the next batch of [:: Survivors!!! :: ]
~ pork roast for dinner... and it will be a late dinner tonight.
~ and hopefully... more on the LuLu project...
~ to send some warm vibes out to my friend agateway... just 'cuz
~ to console sleep_walker on the lost post... been there... done that...
~ that velcro_girl gets over the loss of her puffer... and that I resist all jokes related to the word "puffer".
~ to shout out to beachdog.... his morning posts include a regular bit on "On this day in...." and all kinds of groove-station-zero stuff... I like. So, taken from that post today... "on this day in 1971, John Lennon's LP "Imagine" was released. Corto's two cents: The song "Imagine"... is a fucking nightmare. No religion, no possessions, yadda yadda yadda... one big communist state without dreams or hopes... Personally I could never ever understand what kind of crack people have to be on to think that song paints anything but a horror story of a universe.
~ and, while I refuse to do memes and "tag" games etc... I cannot refuse bosox... so here are my current fav 7 songs (not in order and totally "my current"... versus anything like my "all time favs").
- Kelly Clarkson - "Since U been Gone"
- K-os, "the man I used to be" (although I still don't have the mp3 of this one!!!! grrrrr!)
- Fine Young Cannibals - Suspicious Minds
- Sniff & The Tears - Drivers Seat
- Wheatus - Punk Assed Bitch
- Vanessa Amorosi - Absolutely Everybody
- Fiona Apple - Criminal

Birthday moment...
~ for a much absent bardiva ... Happy Birthday Stephany... whereever you may be... I hope you are well and that the world is treating you like the precious woman that you so clearly are. :)

My I just take a moment to say a hearty fuck you, you stupid old bag of day old donuts, cortizone and sloshing elderly-diapers... out to Mz. Bush Senior... It couldn't have been worse if she had called a press conference to say "Let Them Eat Cake". Die you old bitch ... die.
And while my "ire" is up... three cheers for the guy that flipped off Dick Head Chaney on national television yesterday.
(er... ok... calm again).

It is simply pathetic in the extreme that so many people are crying foul to the people calling the feds on their behavior in the time line reflecting Katrinas impact on America. I think it's exceptionally hypocritical to suddenly stop saying the C&C is the final word and the person with whom the buck actually stops as soon as it becomes inconvenient to do so!!

How come it's ok for the radio stations to play Randy Newman singing about Louisiana but not the Tragically Hip singing about New Orleans? I'm still really pissed off at the radio conglomerates for being such giant suck holes about stuff like this.!!!

a personal god... a community of gods... a religious god... an allegorical god... theoretical, heretical... it's all good with me... I can understand to enough of an extent that I find it easy to respect the opinions of others while they remain in stark contrast to my own. But the Jesus stuff... dude... come on... I swear... it just kills me to think that there are vast numbers of people that have complete and unyielding faith in the notion that, in contrast to the acceptable notion that we are all gods children, he is the actual son-of-god and worthy of such devotion. And I'm not leading to the stuff - great as it is - about the "flying spaghetti monster son-of-god" thing... I'm just rocked back in my chair as I once again try to internalize the depth of peoples belief in The Jesus Concept. mind boggling...

~ k... that's the lunch hour ... :D

geek question: Adobe In-Design

~ document in In-Design includes several in-line colour graphics.
Is there a way to convert the graphics to gray scale without involving copy / paste / photoshop etc... ??? as in, possibly a conversion within In-Design??

Big Brother 6 Update!!!

Big Brother 6 Update!!

Not A Crier?

Where in... I am forced to sing... "how much is that window in the poodle?", play Mozart's "Dirge For Fallen Jedi" on the Bassoon and ring the bell for round three at the Jury house. Julie, the space alien, messes up her lines again... we all learn a secret that was no doubt old news for the live feed junkies.

Things that need saying....

~ iPod Nano... bwaahahahahaha... :) --> laugh directed to the many ipod owners...

~ Richard Hatch... up on a variety of charges, incl. tax evasion, bank fraud, wire fraud, mail fraud... big fat naked gay guy fraud... bwaahahaha... suckkkkka

~ now this next bit...

My position on guns... is a classically Canadian one. I shake my head in sad wonder at the gun culture that has grown and prospered in the united states and recognize that the genie is out... that ship has sailed. Now it's all about knowledge, education and social/political and legal guidance.

But the fact remains... the US constitution... the sacred text upon which the entire freaking planet must dote... is supporting gun ownership.
The amount of law, legal wrangling and culture that is litterally dripping with liquified gun issues is mind boggling.
And when the shit totally hits the fan... aka ... New Orleans...
The government chucks it all and tells people to screw off and give up their guns.?????

What the fuck is that?

Do you see those people in the DRY houses that are small palaces... unscathed by the devistation that washed over the rest of the city?
Those people... must be screaming freaking mad at having to bail and walk away.
But they should have a choice.
And all of their rights... shouldn't become doormats for trained monkeys with flack jackets and m16s.
My mind boggles at this aspect of the drama unfolding in NO...

Oil companies came under new fire yesterday when it emerged that ExxonMobil's profits are likely to soar above $10 billion this quarter on the back of the fuel crisis.

That's $110 million a day, and more net income than any company has ever made in a quarter. It's also a stunning 69 percent increase over the same period a year ago and a 34 percent jump from the $7.6 billion Exxon made just last quarter.

[ :: article here :: ]

~ it's a massive abuse of the worst human and city dissaster to hit North America this century
~ but hey... any excuse for the Oil Companies to make more money...

(ps. thanks for the linkage Vaun. :D)
