randomness:

~ wireless router... all secure... I think...
~ old linksys... fully deployed with that Apple G4 (ps. thanks for the info back there)
~ linksys telephone support is surprisingly good!
~ Alias sucked tonight... maybe... maybe if they had put a dozen bullets in Lauren it would have improved... but it felt like, as z commented, they didn't have enough material for an epi so they kept replaying parts ... like we would be ok with this.??!!! grrrrr

~ my mother handed my brother and I bundles again... she's kept stuff... you know... an everthing in the universe level of stuff... She did this last year with pictures from life and childhood...
This time it was a bundle of papers. I love it when we get stuff like this.
Old grade school report cards, letters I wrote from trips away from home...
Ambulance reciepts from, er, being between the ages of 13 and 18.
Stuff... like;
A letter home from Vancouver. Me? 13... first trip away from my mothers arms... and it included airplanes and traversing the country. My letter home to her... included loads of info (same spelling mistakes as today btw) but it includes this next section, with very little fan fare... (exact text)
... the flight! When I got to Toronto I go on my next flight all right, but when my plane took off and we got not more than 16 miles out of Toronto when we... the pilots... realized that we were flying in a broken air plane. Nothing terrible, but we had to fly all the way back to Ottawa, and make a fuel dump over the Gatineau Hills and then have an emergency landing in Ottawa (at the airport). We had the plane fixed in about 2 hours and we took off again.
Ok, I dunno about you... but now... with Geo and Edward firmly visualized in my head... I can only imagine how my mom must have sat down at this point in the letter. gah... I want to bust out laughing here...

Ok. I got squat done tonight on projects... but there's always tomorrow.

Monday, March 8...

Wave's hello... It's snowy, white, and cold out there...
Mother nature must have scared Spring away...
and considering the amount of crack she's been smoking...
this comes as no big shocker.

I need a hair cut... but I only managed to sort out the boys getting cuts this weekend. I'll have to step up to the scissors later this week.

Odd thought of the moment: Turkey... the place... is remarkably beautiful. I wonder if I will ever visit it? I mean, I've never been to PEI...

wearing
~ blue ftls
~ black jeans
~ gray t
~ gray sweater...
~ if black and dark is "slimming"... I'm practically invisible today.
planning
~ more of the same today... must get the whole "object linking and embedding" paradigm to rise above all expectations and actually work....
~ FireFly tonight... (and I got the news about [ :: Serenity :: ]!! :D :D)
~ try to make some headway on the art gallery web site...
~ man, I really need to see a man about a horse...
wishing
~ I had a 17 (or 19! hahaha) inch LCD monitor... the NEC looks nice... I'm thinking I like the narrow bevel designs... now, I need to rob a bank...
~ that a long time friend and very sweet girl, shebear manages to make today a better day... ya know...
~ I had a ring side... or is that "trampoline side", seat at mscantbwrong's house...
~ that wee cody gets better... er... that would be one of katie8471's crew
~ there was a way to really express the many notions of love ...
I mean, if I tell you I love you, then I mean it.
Does that threaten you? It shouldn't. It's not romantic love... and I wont stop.
I will never tire of experimenting with the boundaries that define the love I can have.
Love is a gift you give yourself by sharing with others. and all that I am, is made to be more
when I take love by the hand and walk it with it to you.

A belated but much thought of birthday wish for a very good friend.
Happy Birthday Debby
debby has been friend for many years and in that time I've had the pleasure of sharing a great deal of my life and thoughts with her.
We've earned one another’s friendship in good times and in bad... and while the wheel slowly - too slowly sometimes - turns through those times... I know for certain that there are many many wonderful times waiting for this woman this year. I am beyond excited for you with the new digs deal!!!
Sweet Debby... thank you for your friendship... and I do sincerely hope that you and your lovely family stay healthy and happy as this next year becomes the stuff of memory. May you find the strength to deal powerfully with those that push your buttons, and may you find the opportunity to be well entertained by the life that is before you.

k three things...

~ I don't know superstar_pig (tito) but with all this love'en care going his way I gotta say, it makes me feel that something awful has happened and there is no comfort in the thought of someone else’s pain... may the peace of the love that your friends bring to you, lift your spirits and carry you through the day Tito.

~ The other day, I'm in the kitchen and I ask Geo to call Edward for dinner. I make a point of saying "and don't just go scream down the stairs for him... I could do that from here..." So he casually starts walking in the other direction... I'm about to be incredulous... and ask him what he thinks he's doing when he hits the ground behind the kitchen table ... and calmly, serenely, speaks into the ventilator "Edward... dinner time." Ed shows up a few moments later... I am dumbfounded. Obviously there are features to our home that are only apparent to people that live within the first 3 1/2 feet of airspace over the floor. :D

~ I'm doing the most mind numbing thing imaginable... linking individual cells on a spreadsheet to cells on another sheet... there are patterns but they patterns do no repeat so ever cell has be attended to individually... every twenty or so cells... I have to stop myself from smashing my head against the desk...

sometimes I think I should go over to loblaws (groceries) and get the manager...
drag him over to wallmart... and get their manager...
put 'em both in a room, shove my bank card and pin number under the door
and tell 'em to duke it out... winner take all.

Off to get more groceries. :D
