The scene:
Z and I are goofing in the kitchen, talking about the pending arrival of carpet cleaners tomorrow morning at 9:00 am.
It's about 1:14 am.
I'm hunched over, due to ouchi thing and holding a small bag of garbage.
A hair elastic is still where z worked it into my head snuggling while watching Conan minutes earlier.
Hence I have a small horn. :D

The circumstance:
Blink.
Geo pops around the corner from the stairs.
He's in his roos, holding brown-bear.

The issue:
Typically, he's awoken with a fright,
and wanted to locate us to get a snuggle and a hug,
then he would go sleepily back to bed, maybe still nervous but to bed.

The reaction:
He pops around the corner and surprises the hell out of both of us.
Quote: "holy moly... georgy... you scared the crap out of us..."
He looks at us gawking at him.
"what if we were standing here naked?"

The solution:
He's on the floor laughing...
"get up! go to bed...! goof."
He's off, giggling and running, back to bed.

Ok... so the front door is wide open and a little truck is making enough noise out front to wake the freaking dead! Um... hoses and tubes running around the house and ... basically everything is wet. An ideal way to great a frosty February day. :D It's carpet cleaning day in Casa De Corto.

wearing
~ still commando..
~ pj pants
~ gray t and a sweater
~ big down filled winter jacket
planning
~ well, I'm feeling a wee bit better today... so maybe I can get back into the crash course in Flash...
~ Survivor is on tonight (as is another weeny epi of the Friends final whatever... they're, btw, too full of themselves... They should be going out with a bang not a big hug for the stalker fans!)
wishing
~ to thank you for yesterday... :) :D (beaming)
~ that little William Hung would be done with his 15 minutes already... please!
~ to send out a little HEY to the flag girl... er... that's tiarafetish
~ for good choices and better fortune to hold on to nutmeg... weddings and new houses... you know... the big stuff. :D

You know... I filled out that LJ Friends Match stuff... like over a year ago... er.. Just say'en... :D

So due to circumstances beyond my control... read: if I don't take the pictures... they don't get took! (love the grammer huh)... There are no pictures of the birthday cake my mom brought over last weekend. However, I wanted to pass along a recipe note ... just to make you drool. You know those little powdered choco truffles you can get in the sealed packages... yummi... rich like choco death, but yummi? Well what she did was made a standard choco cake (I know I posted the recipe for the worlds-greatest-choco-cake a while ago, but, alas, I didn't set it to a memory ... d'oh!) and before it went in the oven, she pressed truffles into it at 3 inch intervals... The result was a total layer of soft chocolate... it was (still is) seriously good.

K... Not feeling at the top of my game ... you might say.
I suspect that rest is going to help.
Survivor comes first though. :D That tape is waiting.

As Geo goes to bed, we embark upon a bit of a process...
Tonight’s went poorly.

I prop onto his bed and he props up.
We go through two pages of times tables
Then he reads out loud from his book (and "a-z mystery") for 10 minutes.
Then I read to him... we are at the climactic moments of the 7th of 7 narnia books.
I'll read for 10 - 20 minutes.

He decided he didn't want to do the 2 and 3 times tables.
He's done them before so now he's ...er... to good for 'em.
I ask again...
"I'm not and you can't make me."
"ok... here's your book... lets listen to you read."
He's diggin that story so he puts away a chapter out loud...and then snuggles in for Narnia.
I struggle my ancient self out of his bed and go for the light switch...
"Hey... aren't you going to read Narnia?"
"I'm not and you can't make me."
"... and we'll see how things go tomorrow night."
~ sheesh was he pissed.

Then I had a bit of a lie down in my bed... damn gut is just being a pain.

However... I'm waking back up a bit... time to make a little fresh coffee and sort out the Survivor tape.

The editor of MacLean’s, in a recent edition, called the PM (Martin) to task over his seemingly misguided sense of duty in overspending his time allocations in an argument with Jack Layton (NDP Leader) - the NDP only have 14 seats in Parliament... and his parties mistreatment of Shelia (the lying cow) Copps, leaving her - a liberal icon of a politician - to wade in rumors she'd jump ship for the NDP.

The criticism was that too many Liberal shakers-and-movers were getting caught up in the act of being tough... without focusing on what they need to be tough for. In the end, it's a dig at the Liberal election strategy.

A worthy topic to dig at... and a good position to do the digging from - editor of a national weekly magazine.

The thing is... I think he has it wrong.

The liberals are giving loads of time to the NDP... arguing with them, throwing them in the media spotlight, etc. knowing full well that this will invigorate the NDP flocks (of misguided sheep - but that's opinion so... whatever) and activate the NDP campaigns. They will respond to all that attention by seeking more and calling it a "roll"... as in, they are on a...

This will do nothing except ensure a greater division in the anyone but liberal vote and bring non-voter NDPers off their asses to vote. All towards the goal of reducing the likelihood of the conservatives garnering enough of a voter share to put the sweaty-with-their-vain-glorious-power liberals out on their collective asses.

You know... we should all be forced to watch a solid hour each month of CSPAN or CPAC or whatever is appropriate for your government... just to reinforce our inherent knowledge that politicians are whiney, sniveling, loud talking, blowhards that need a good time out or three.

did you link my journal because you want to read it?
or because you want me to read yours?
RHETORICAL... don't answer that!
We link others to read them.
Depending on how you use filters... adding back basically opens the doors.
Until they (livejournal) change the way that works... we're stuck with that process.

So you've linked my journal... I hope you enjoy it, and if not, no worries.

If you don't write me a note and introduce yourself...
there's little chance I'll add you back.

It's just a "way" that works for me.
