and so it starts.

may the comfort of times inevitable passing make it possible
for the circle to keep turning.

cryptic much? yeah whatever...
it's not about like anywhere but in here and I know it's unfair
to "want" so I'll just "be" and hope for things to keep turning.
It's a wheel and I've watched it turn before...

Spring is in the air.
Young hearts turn to hope.
Worn hearts beat with renewed strength.
And questions burn the pathways between the heart and the mind.

Go easy on yourself... life is long.

Ok... enough of that...

What an amazing weekend. :)

Alias was excellent tonight... and my bed is quite literally bellowing my name and demanding my immediate attention.

Night night.

Driving to work in serious fog... I felt like I was driving through the set of THX 1138... The sun is busy burning away the land dwelling clouds.

My father's father called Belfast the home of his parents. My mother's parents were born in Budapest. It's a B thing I guess but this leads to issues about just how Irish I am. I don't think of myself as Irish at all... If pressed I'll walk the unsuspecting down the path of kilts and caber tossing and when asked I'll say 'arrrrr yeah.. My name is McGeek of the Clan McGeek" but that’s only because I like saying "clan mcgeek". I have several serious issues with "The Troubles" in Ireland and I will never ever understand the social mentality that carries something like that forward... and celebrating a holiday by getting drunk and beating each other up doesn't do it for me either... so Happy St. Patties day and leave your car keys at home tonight... awright? ps. but don't let that overshadow the fact that a thick Irish accent on a woman makes my knees weak.

~ green ftls... and that's all the green this boy is gonna wear.
~ khaki cargos... pockets pockets pockets... everywhere....
~ beige T hiding under a dk blue turtleneck.
~ ma shit kick'en shoes.
~ to sit here and let the hours pass today... today is the day that members of my team have to turn in their signed contracts to the new bosses or not... and not is kinda a drama thing. Either way... for each of them... there is a world of opportunity and I wouldn't raise a word, a breath or a thought against their better instincts... The very best team I've ever had the opportunity to work with.
~ power down content to my clients final report.
~ watch Happy Gilmore tonight?? I'm thinking that has a little to do with how Z's painting thing goes today.
~ pick my sister up from the buss stop tonight... she'll be home from her Across-America adventure meeting up with Net Friends.
~ that my little boys enjoy their first day back at school... March Break is done!
~ that my displace lil'canadian sugar canuckgirl does get laid... but not laid off ... and if you do... well something better is around every corner for an Peoplesoft programmer sugar.
~ for much happiness and confidence to sweep across the world of a precious friend... queenveets ... just 'cause.
~ to point my finger at txdevil and smile... you're a sweet friend Christie... cryptic or not.

~ A tired looking police man, snapping pictures with an improbably large camera, crouches over a skid mark and a child’s shoe while a teenager softly weeps in the back seat of a police car trying to not look at his dads car.

~ Mascara, smudged across the lower eyelid of a party dress wearing girl sitting alone on public transit at 8:30 in the morning, her black strappy heals strung together in her hands while dirty feet tap out an unheard song...

memory is a chilling thing in the fog... for some reason, I remember things like little movies that play out on the edge of my memory.

Ok... busy day... I hope my friends have a great day!!
ps. I have fresh crack... yeah! :D

Do you live in a major city? even a "big city"??

Look out your window... can you see tall buildings anywhere?

Do you remember how it felt to watch either of the towers fall on 9/11?

Every building in your city falling... oh wait... lets leave a few... but drop everyone that has a government office in it.

Now lets knock out all the bridges ... if it's a bridge... it's gone...

Water? nope... that's off before the first building falls.

Electricity... Don't be silly... that will be off before the water and be off for a long long time.

Oh... and just 1/100 of 1% of the directed attacks against the city went towards the wrong target... seventeen complete residential blocks vanish in a puff of kinetic energy.

You have a battery operated radio? So what... everything electronic in nature was fried while that first building was falling by a explosion above the city that does that sort of thing.

Hospital? hahaha... don't be silly... Don't even think of leaving the house.

Hopefully, you made it to the basement with your children ... hmmm... oh, nobody has basements in your city...

Yeah... just like Baghdad.

However, when it's all said and done... the american tax payer will be fine with the already in effect agreement between the american government and the United Nations to foot the bills for rebuilding Baghdad... all that infrastructure will be rebuilt. It'll just take a while...

So... how many kids in your child’s grade 3 class room? Yeah... can't afford to pay enough teachers to keep that number down huh...
Hey... did you see that street person ... he has kids... somewhere...
Careful... the waters a little dirty... remember to use your water filter for drinking water...huh? you can't afford a water filter?
Did you work for Enron?

Wave that flag baybee...

... just don't forget the reason we all sit around on November 11 or Veterans day and make noises like we give a shit.

Lest We Never Forget??

Hell, if only we'd ever remember...

The ongoing saga of "buddy"... the blue betta fish.

After five days of ignoring flakes and pellets... we pluked a few Sea Monkeys from the kids "sea monkey village" (sea monkey = brine shrimp) and observed one happy schmappy blue betta gobbling the goods.

We now own a little slap of frozen, pressed and recently shattered brine shrimp for the blue guy.

Catching up on birthdays;

Happy Slightly Late Birthday Jenn... mariposadyke. I hope you have a stellar year ... you little dyke you!! :D Make some memories worth carrying with you for the rest of your days.

Happy actually on-time (with 25 mins to spare!) Birthday Leah!! phinnia. You've been a wonderful friend this past year and I do very much hope that you stay healthy, happy and loved.

... and ...

Happy Birthday to another Leah!! Sweet fireflieslie... Leah was in that first kinda block of friends I made in lj and it feels like forever ago... coming up on three years. There used to be this feature in lj where you could see on the stats page the last 5 journals to have been created... even then, there was a new list with every refresh... I made several lj friends that have been with me since by clicking their name and posting a reply to their first comment... seconds after they made it. This happened to me when I started my journal and I remember it kinda freaking me out... er.. in a good way. Regardless... the point is that this is how I met Leah. She's a much busier little beaver now than she was then and a lot has changed in her life...

fireflieslie... I hope you have a remarkable year... that you find your way into contact with old friends and smile at the finding of new ones... and that you get the car. :D And I will hold onto the hope that we will stay in contact however fleeting as the years tick past.

Happy Birthday to you... Happy Birthday to you... Happy Birthday dear Jess, Leah and Leah... Happy Birthday to all y'all... :D
