rats...

My hand held and my desktop had a little problem and the "good morning Lj" message I wrote on the buss today got fried… so lets see what I can remember…

I got to the bus today totally soaking wet… it's just pouring outside… This picture was taken maybe 5 minutes before I became a drowned rat… yuck.

wearing
~ black f.t.l. boxers
~ blue jeans (that are soaking wet… today would have been a good day to wear the swish swish pants… they'd be dry by now.)
~ my fav point zero t-shirt…
planning
~ to make about 25 sales calls this morning… this is totally in contrast to the rules at work (I am not a sales rep) but our sales guys just suck… and there is no way in hell I'm sittin on my ass if action will keep my boys under the lay-off radar.
~ to have coffee with a nextproblem this aft…
~ to go see Tomb Raider… must get babysitting… must get baby sitting…
wishing
~ I took the job offer I got a few months ago… or maybe not… mmmm, talk to me in two weeks. :D
~ that there was something wonderful I could do to help my friend ladyfire with the heavy heart situation…
~ That someday, somehow, I could go to Singapore… I spent some time last night trolling net resources about Sing… my god it's beautiful there…

You know, superhero's need to remember the golden rule of super-hero'ing… You do your best work when you feel 100%. Superhero's must never feel anything bad about reserving a little of that energy for taking care of number one! Kristy? You know, all the other superhero's get trained by watching you…

Umm…my pal billijean has an absolutely beautiful voice… ~ swoon ~

Ok, I need to knuckle under today and do what I do best… well, what I do best at work - getting the ball rolling. This is in contrast to something else I've been doing pretty well lately thanks to Laura Corn and Altoids… mmmmm

Ps. Scary Jeri (Survivor II) is gonna pose in playboy… what? Is she in an advertisement promoting a nutritional supplement that puts a little meat on your body? I guess we'll see… maybe I should reserve judgment…

pps. Long slow, deep, wet kisses... the kind that makes your toes curl... the kind that make you think you're totally alone in the universe with your lover... it's all about kissing... everything else gets easy after that...

erp.

My friend amyliscious inspired me (via her groovy Gwen Icon) to put a link back to this post... a "morning after the show" post I made last summer following the No Doubt concert in Montreal...

Now ... I'd go on to post a "check it out here" link ... but I can't find it... the show as in June 2000 - before I started at Lj... but I know I wrote a review of the show... ahhhh I wrote it for the nodoubt news group... I'll go troll their archives and see if I can find it... BUT I have it somewhere... prol'y at home on my pc in a word document... I'll check later... Amy, I'll find it.!

ok

Note: when you have relatively short hair and you use a small amount of gel to get a kinda-look happening for yourself... you really ought to look in the mirror if, when getting to work, you get soaked from head to toe by evil rain drops....

I'm just say'en...

hey...

So I tried to wake the sleeping zebra... no luck. Ed's fast asleep... Geo's still doing the "Dad? I'm thirsty... Dad? I'm thinking of a bad dream." etc. but he should be asleep soon... I just keep walking him back to his bed... giving him a 2 minute snuggle and saying goodnight... Then I hold the pillow over his face until he passes out... Ok Ok... I don't really but sheesh... it's after 10:!!

I'm just a sittin here with the cam on and working on some HTML stuff for my site and doing some random surfing...

Oh, a note in the paper today about the eclipse in southern Africa yesterday... they pointed out how various governments were reacting... Zimbabwe made a party out of it... another country (I forget which one) made it a national holiday and forbid driving to reduce accidents... and then there was the general observation that the time of the eclipse brought a period of quiet, peaceful calm to a region of the world normally torn by battles, war-lettes, etc.

This reminded me of a part of the book "Childhood's End" by Arthur C. Clark. In this movie the omniscient (is that a word?) beings arrive in the skys above the earth and begin the process of taking over... old story told a million times... but one specific moment in this telling sticks in my memory. The book was written in the 60's (??) and is about a world at the end of the 20th century... the new overlords are busy bringing peace to the planet... but South Africa is a bit of a sticky wicket... so they orbit a giant disk above Africa that blocks out all sunlight from reaching that country as a threat... and "... finally, with the threat of perpetual darkness looming, the black government of South Africa agrees to stop the systematic oppression of the white minority and peace finally comes to this nation." (this is a terrible paraphrase I am sure... )

In the mail tonight I received another post card... this one from caroline75 on her trip to Chicago. Thank you so very much for thinking of my family and I... I am getting quite a groovy collection of post cards from the travels of my Lj buddies... :D <--- very very big smiling corto.

side note: there is also an lj user named junebug but I don't know her.

Ok so tell me, what is the fricking deal with the cute little scarf around Fred's neck in scooby doo? I was there when scoob was invented and that dam scarf was not in style then nor has it ever entered style... or did I miss some huge horrible time in human history? hmmm?

Happy BirthdayKathy

dustspeck is a new friend and I wanted to take a moment to wish her a happy and AGGRIVATION FREE year... hehe... in the short time I have been reading you and my effort to back read I'd have to say... staying aggravation free is a dern good idea. That little peanut sure looks cute, btw.

I hope you and adriel have a good year with the peanut, but mostly that you enjoy new friends, and make good memories over the next year.

Happy Birthday to you... Happy Birthday to you... Happy Birthday dear Kathy (the significant dustspeck), Happy Birthday to you...
