~ that fire... as it turns out... a little boy in George's grade three class lived in one of the affected homes. His whole class spent time making cards for him and his family... Note: as I said earlier.. no one was physically injured in this terrible fire... but there must be so much hurt... to lose so much. :(
~ tonight... I will put two more computer husks at the end of our laneway. (And do not give me hard time around "laneway") That makes at least two dozen such husks to be discarded over the last couple of years... fortunately I never formed the strange attachment some of my friends do for old computers... I strip 'em and chuck 'em...
~ for as long as I can remember I have been curious as to what the hell the Free Masons were... and you could tell me they were a Guild of Stoneworkers... but that would never really cut it now would it. Who would have guessed... a casual conversation over dinner at my folks house last week... talking about religion and getting onto elements of the Inquisitions... would lead me down a path to answers on this long standing issue.
I googled "Knights Templar" and ended up printing out 20 pages of text on them... and consumed it.
Amazing stories... (and that link is only an example of what's out there... )
mysticism...
secret christian religious sects...
homosexuality...
trampling, pissing on, and spitting on the cross...
beheadings...
burning dozens of men alive as punishments...
a massive court cases ... like... 900 years ago, that spanned a half dozen countries...
the failings of Popes, the lies of the church...
torture beyond imagining (by the church)...
relevant issues that speak to the foundations of why France and England have such deeply divided histories...
the "Hospitalers"...
the rise of military infantry formations...
Scotsmen leading armies for the French...
links into William Wallace (Remember Braveheart? Dude!!! We have a family friend that actually has accredited peerage back to Robert The Bruce!)
and the origins of the english term "Free Masons" and why a sword and a trowel mark their shield.
- originally Freres Maçons (the french name that english "broke" to make "Free Masons".)...
and - remember the first Tomb Raider movie? - links to "the Illuminati"!!!
Now, of course, I am incensed to learn more of this absolutely strange piece of history.
Ok... I'll stop now... :D
