~ Sweet mercy... Geo and I just about injured ourselves laughing at the contestants trying out on American Idol. To his credit, Geo was constantly questioning why the judges had to "make them feel so bad"... but man... some of those people redefine the concept of sucking.
"I lost eighty pounds to come here and do this..." ooookaaay.... So that's where Clay Aiken came from... and you still suck.
~ a friend (thanks
~ we had the most awesome pork at dinner...
Put on rice or potatoes or whatever takes the longest...
Cut up some pork chops... (I used four little fry'ers, so not a lot) trim the fat and make 'em into little pieces - like, < 2 inches long and ~ 1/2 inch wide)...
pork in bowl!
Chop up half a red pepper into half strips... and set aside.
Stir a teaspoon of cornstarch into 1/4 cup of water... and set aside. (don't own cornstarch? fix that!)
Add;
1 tsp veg oil,
1 tsp soya,
1 tsp oyster sauce (get a bottle of this in the chinese section at the store... wicked useful stuff!)
1 tsp honey
seasoning... thyme, salt, chili pepper...
2 cloves garlic smashed in a crusher.
Stir Stir Stir Stir Stir....
and let it sit while you get veggies going and set the table...
Scoop the pork into a hot fry pan - clean out the bowl....
and stir it up sizzling all sides of the pork... but just for a bit... maybe half cooked...
~ Pour it back in the cleaned bowl.
~ Put the red pepper in the hot pan and stir them around until they start to change colour (deeper red)
~ Sprinkle about three tablespoons of bread crumbs into the bowl of pork and stir it up well...
~ Pour this into the pan with the red peppers, and down to medium heat....
~ keep stirring this so nothing burns...
When it's about done... maybe 5 minutes of cooken time... turn the heat back up and stir the cornstarch in the water, then pour it on the pork.
Stir quick... (that thickens and coats the pork)
Scoop the pork into a serving dish, sprinkle with sesame seeds if you have 'em, surround it with whatever veggie you made, and put the rice or tatters in another bowl and bring it to what will turn out to be a very appreciative family. It's fantastic. :)
