Our Christmas Day...

Christmas 2003

We made the final leg of this years journey to the Day Of Santa with Edward working overtime trying to get healthy... A stomach flu was really playing havoc with his efforts. Never the less, Christmas morning arrived and our two little men were at our bedsides hankering for a trip downstairs to see what Santa brought.

Suzanne and I went to bed with a last look at the living room...

... and we were certain Santa would have the both on overdrive.

We were right... Edward, much improved from the day before, seemed ready find his Christmas spirit... however his strength had limits, so we kept that in mind as we zoomed through the day.

Christmas starts with the Stockings (hung with care)... Everyone can open their stocking but then it's breakfast and time for M&D to have their showers... Prezzies have to wait till we're ready to face the day.

The children open their Santa gifts at home... and this years big deal was a Nintendo Game Cube. Finally replacing our misbehaving N64...

[ :: a short video moment of the boys opening the GameCube... :: ]

They were a flurry of moving arms and smiling faces as we handed them gifts to open...

This was a year of limits, compared to some of the excesses we've enjoyed in years past and we did a great job of it!!
Santa brought me a special knife for doing cake icing... and a new cake recipe book!!

and my supply of D&G cologne was replenished (yeah!). Some clothes and loads of love made the day wonderful...
Suzanne... forever tormented by her computer mouse is now the proud user of a new cordless mouse and has a book by her two favourite fags... the Designer Guys.

After the gifts ... we took a shot at snapping a family photo...
First try;

Second try;

Then we gave up. :D

After we had enjoyed our morning... it was time to pack up and drive to my parents house.
his is approximately a 4 minute drive... going slow.
My sister, brother, his ex, his girlfriend, and two kids were all in attendance, and after some goofing around... we turned to the tree.

My dad hands out prezzies and my mom collects the mess... :D

The kids were well treated with stop number two on the Long Day of Santa...

We laughed as Edward announced that he "knew exactly what this is" ... while we opened a gift that was a bottle of spiced oil... It was the way he made the announcement...

I'm not sure if Suzanne is going to love this picture... but I think it's great... a moment of Christmas.

Edward was in great shape... very happy and very busy...

One of my nieces... Zoe... in the background of that picture... is so photogenic is almost unnatural. She's around 11 I think (and yes, I should know... but but but but...)

My SIL went a little Martha Stewart on us and painted wicker door mat with out street address for a gift... it's absolutely perfect!!

(and that's Geo and Suz opening the "mat")

I managed to wear my new sweater with the tag hanging off it all day... I was pointed out early but I just decided it was good where it was. I'm modeling my sweater and a new pair of Binoculars in this terrible picture!!

There is no mistaking the love of this day that the two of them share... My mom especially, as she sets about preparing a masterpiece for a meal.

(and [ :: here :: ] is a candle lit version of the table... )

We had Carrot Soup, brought over and served by my SIL (brothers main squeeze) Sandy.

We went on to have Lamb and loads of different veggies... and plenty of Kifli for dessert... :D

The center piece on the table was beautiful...

Dinner ended... and after the kids had a little play time... we were off to Stop Number Three on the Long Day of Santa...
Suzanne’s sisters house plays a lovely host to her side of the family... We arrived after their dinner concluded (and I brought kifli!).
The little ones played and bigger kids ... did what bigger kids do...
Nieces... Kayla, Megan, Sara, and Amy.

And because she always makes faces when I take pictures... I'm going to share a Kayla picture and she will certainly stomp me if she ever finds out! :D

There were more prezzies...

and Edward was started to slow down...

When we came down to the play room at my SILs house I snapped a pic of Edward playing one of his new computer games...

... and the look on his darling little face was that of a very tired little Christmas boy... He actually turned off his game and came to find Suz a few minutes later asking if he could go home and go to bed!! :)

We had a wonderful day... and I hope where ever you are... you have some great memories of Christmas to hold close to your heart as well.
