you know that momentary feeling when you forget you're wearing... say... earplugs on a walkman or something and reaching for something in your pocket or to itch a tickle on your back... your fingers brush the wire hanging down. There is a 1 split second of something before you process... "it's the wire..." That's not panic...thats a surprise... But when the same thing happens except when you close your fingers over the wire... it's legs move and you realize it's not a wire but some freakish exoskeleton bug thing on your flesh? That's panic! You flick your fingers and jerk your body ... almost involutarily and maybe spring away a bit... Oh sure... there's times when this doesn't get ya... but there are others....
ok ok... that's one type... the surprise becoming panic panic.
Then theres the other... the one that creeps into your brain like a mugger following your up your steps... like when you glance over at the closed shower curtain while brushing your teeth... you know you looked because a part of you thought you saw movement... but your alone. You're looking and nothing is moving... there's nothing there... you're certain... but there is no way in hell you're not checking... because it's already alive in your mind... on your skin... hell your sphincter is prol'y clenching... until you check. That creeping panic is evil...
Alrighty... time to brush my teeth and go to bed... :D
